Can This Election Season Get Any More Amazing?
Oh, No! Not Again!

Are we living in the real world, or are we living in some fictional world straight from the imagination of some novelist? No House of Cards drama could possibly compete with the surreal unreality that is Campaign 2016. As is often said about many more plausible happenings, you can not possibly make this up!
The FBI Announces a Reversal
In case you have no idea what I am ranting on about, yesterday around 1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, news media announced the FBI Director James Comey had sent a letter to the appropriate Congressional committee chairmen that the FBI was essentially reopening the investigation on Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. In its entirety, the letter states the following:
Dear Messrs Chairmen:
In previous congressional testimony, I referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton’s personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony.
In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.
Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is important to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony.
Sincerely yours, signed James B. Comey, Director.
That was it, with absolutely no details about what all this might have to do with Hillary Clinton’s involvement. Nevertheless, this announcement has the potential to completely change the direction of the presidential campaign. Officials from Clinton’s campaign, including Clinton herself, took indignant umbrage to demand what the hell was Comey doing. Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta, he of newly revealed Wikileaks fame, demanded that Comey explain what the new information was, and of course blamed everything on the Republicans for browbeating Comey. As he quite rightly noted, “It is extraordinary that we would see something like this just 11 days out from a presidential election.”
An FBI source for FoxNews revealed the new emails were discovered on devices (other sources say it was a laptop computer) owned by Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin. This is a laptop Abedin apparently shared with her husband, disgraced ex-congressman Anthony Wiener. According to the New York Times, the “unrelated case” cited by Comey in his letter was an investigation “into illicit text messages from Mr. Weiner to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina.” Sex, politics, national security violations, the most surreal and crucial presidential campaign in modern history — this plot has it all. Netflix, take note!
Much has been made about Comey’s remark in his letter that “the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant … .” However, it beggars the imagination to believe Comey would throw such a bombshell without having a pretty good idea that the new evidence would probably show some culpability on Clinton’s part. It must be of great moment. If the connection to Clinton turns out to be trivial, Comey can kiss his reputation and career goodbye.
According to a Fox News report I just heard, the number of pertinent Clinton emails on that laptop has grown from thousands to now “tens of thousands.”
And Then There Is the Clinton Foundation
Among those of us who believe Clinton is fundamentally corrupt, I believe there is a growing consensus the reason why she had a private email server was to hide her quid pro quo dealings with foreign leaders and others. The Wikileaks release of hacked Clinton emails seems to be confirming this belief. Consider the video below of a Fox News Special Report exchange on this very subject.

To see how the Clinton’s used their foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), to hustle up income, you might find the following Public Broadcasting Service video of interest.

As a particular example of how it was (and is) all done, consider how about 20% of all U.S. uranium assets ended up owned by Rosatom, the Russian atomic energy agency. Several Canadians who were leaders in the Canadian mining industry owned these uranium assets in a holding called Uranium One near the town of Gillette, Wyoming. They were also major donors to the Clinton foundation. As the New York Times tells the story, the Canadians decided to sell Uranium One to the Russians and
Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. Among the agencies that eventually signed off was the State Department, then headed by Mr. Clinton’s wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well.
Also, the NYT notes that shortly before the Russians announced their intention to take over Uranium One, Bill Clinton was given $500,000 from a Russian bank for a speech in Moscow. Quid pro quo? What do you think?
Hillary Clinton Is Damaged Goods
The American people should not be under any illusion if they elect Hillary Clinton that their new president is anything other than a liar and a crook. There is absolutely no hope that she could unify the American people, assuming they could possibly be unified at all.
If elected, her political honeymoon will end with her taking the oath of office. With the percent of people who do not consider her honest and trustworthy hovering around 70 percent, she could not be considered to have any kind of mandate at all. In fact, as the defender of Obama’s progressive status quo, she could expect vigorous opposition to her policies from the American people in general and the Republican Party in particular.
Then, there is still the question of whether she could be indicted. One would not expect her Department of Justice to seek such an indictment, which would leave only impeachment, conviction, and removal from office by the U.S. Congress to get her out of there. Would Congress, even if dominated by the Republicans, have the stomach for it? That depends on how Americans react to her continuation of progressive policies.
